Evidence of remyelination long after attack

Published Story by art

http://msnews.acceleratedcure.org/...

As the MS research community starts to move some of its investigations
from the inflammatory aspect of MS to the neurodegenerative, they are
in need of means to image demyelination and remyelination. This study
[38] looked at MTR (a type of imaging for the brain) markers that are
believed to indicate myelination activity. They found that
remyelination seemed to happen strongly for 3-4 months after an attack
and possibly for years after at a lower level. It would seem that our
brains can repair themselves.

" I went to a Memorial Service for a friend who passed on from heart problems on Wed. As I was walking w/cane to front a lady reached out from 2nd row and said"what's wrong w/you" I had to laugh she was quite old and spunky.
I said I have MS she said so do I have been dx'd since 1970 and have been in remission since mid 72.
She says get rid of that cane and tell your brain your leg will work and it will. How many of you have noticed positive thinking getting rid of your sx?
Also she said she was completely paralized when dx'd in 70 and she was walking unassisted - no meds back then she said all they had was valium??? "
