I was in a car accident August 21st, 2007. I had a back injury and went through PT for 6-8 weeks. That helped with the pain but it never really went away. I just figured that I would have to live with some mild pain forever. December 28th, 2007 I woke up with my right foot asleep and a week later I was asleep from the chest down. (pins & needles) After going to my regular doctor and a chiropractor and 4 MRI's later, they sent me to Neurologist. He did the spinal tap in February 2008 and said it's MS. I have been told be several people that the trauma of the accident probably caused the plaque to grow and inflame thus triggering the MS. I understand that the accident didn't cause the MS but could it have caused it to flair up? Does anyone know of where I can for credible documentation on this? Any help or advise would be much appreciated.

" O my... you could be my twin... I too was in a car accident where my back got hurt, went through the pt but the pain never really went away,,then I had numbness in my left foot which they said was a vitamin b def. Started on a strict vitamin b progam and about 1 month later the right foot went numb.. then my legs, hands, arms, my speech went out the window.. After 4 hours of MRI's and xrays and an emg and all the vision and hearing test a trip to the hospital for steroids and to do the spinal they diagnosed me with MS, but I had no symptoms until after the accident, so I bet there is some kind of relationship with that. Wow I really felt like I was reading about me... Good luck to you and if you ever need to talk message me.... !!!!! "
