since my diagnosis i had an attack once a month. It was horrible...But now that i think about it....MY LAST ATTACK WAS 4 MONTHS AGO!!! i mean it's taken a while for my vision to get back to how it used to be but it's getting there! So FINALLY WOOOOOOOOOO MS IS MY B****!
but another odd thing i've noticed...
Ok...so with that attack was when i found out i had blood clots right?
since then i was told by the hematologist to take an aspirin a day...
So my question is this...
theoretically speaking...could aspirin be helping the ms? I mean aspirin is a NSAID (NON steroidal anti inflammatory drug) and part of the ms problem is the inflammation of the myelin...hmm....what do ya'll think? I'm so happy! I'm having little symptoms here and there but nothing bad enough to keep me from exercising! WOooooOOoooOOooo

" Good for you, I am very happy for you. You are probably right about the aspirin, I take two to four 200 mg ibuprophen every morning and approx 6 hours later 200 mg more and I know when I have forgotten to. Feel dizzy and my navigation system goes to hell. Brighter days to you young lady

" NSAIDs are not recommended for those w/ MS. I don't have the name of the resources handy for you to refer to, but I could easily round them up if you're interested. "

" yeah i would like that pleeease. Well i HAVE to take the aspirin though because the clots....So i would soon rather hurt the MS with the aspirin. I dunno i'm more scared of the clots than the MS right now "

" Oh man, i'm gonna start popping aspirin. I too seem to suffer from the once-a-month attack. It's bologna!

Maybe if i start now i can make it through June or even July without a relapse. I just wish this one would clear up already. It's been almost a month. Grr.

But i'm so happy to hear you got some sort of a break. I've got my fingers crossed for you. "

" I was thinking the same thing...I know that when I feel really really lousy and do NOT feel like getting out of bed I take Tylenol fast release or some other aspirin or ibuprofen that the pain goes away and I feel "normal" in the MS way...good theory. "

" ohhhh but just in case i dunno there ARE risks to taking aspirin once a day. once again i only do it because i also have a problem with blood clots...But if you do as with any other supplement or over the counter medication you should ask your doc if it's ok to take it everyday. Also if he approves make sure you take baby aspirin and make sure it is safety coated to it won't hurt your tummy. But talk to the doc first! "
