" OhPixel... heh heh... after my doc first told me he thought it was MS and was sending me for all the tests... my mom and I left the office and we were sitting in the car and I said 'Isn't that what they tested us for in school to see if our spine was straight?' and she said 'no.. that is sclerosis'

Does this mean I should be more patient with the people who drive me crazy saying all the things they say that drives us all crazy... I think I was one of them at one time.. ;) "

" I'm an accountant, a "beancounter", as I am fond of saying. Been doing it for almost 20 yrs. I am with a terrific group, they cut me some slack when I need it, I just love them all. Luckily, I only have some walking & fatigue problems, occasional cognitive troubles, not enough to compromise my work yet, but...

Wheels will fit under my desk, if necessary, but need to see the computer and be able to add 2 + 2 or I'm not much good. I think they'd keep me anyway, bless their hearts. "

" I'm an account manager for a research firm. It's a very high pace and stressful job at times. I manage research for JD Power and Associates....run about 32 projects at a time - that means I have at least 32 different clients emailing and calling saying their request is most important. It's definately a job that I have to juggle my time with. I have seriously considered leaving my job at the end of this year. (We are on target to meet our goal, which would mean a decent gain sharing check at the end of the year) Once this year is done I think I'll find something not as high pace and stressful. My insurance plan is ridiculous as well. I know I can find something better for me....all in good time I guess. "

" Treelee, that response was only cute cos your mom said it! i have to admit, (& i do to people who have the scoliosis response) i knew little to nothing about MS until i was told i had it & i would not be going home from the hospital any time soon. :(
i have even worked on a project for a vaccine for MS in my 'past career' as a biopharmacutical technician, not knowing the ins & outs of the disease.
we become our own experts, don't we? "

" I am currently a teacher's aide for emotionally disturbed teenagers. I have to walk around a lot which can be difficult. My fatigue sometimes makes my job nearly impossible. I am also a senior college getting a degree in interdisciplinary studies. I am also looking into computer science, a job physically easier for me to do. "

" Hi, I was a drama teacher! Which was great....until I got worn out in classes.......not to mention there is a serious problem in leaving children unattended to go to the toilet! So that didn't work for me. I have just got a new job as a case manager in a child and family unit for kids with developmental delay. I am excited but soooooo nervous about starting because of my toilet issues! Goodluck with whatever you are doing!!! "

" I work in IT and my employer is flexible..many people there are dealing with aging parents or have small kids. I will probably work from home two afternoons per week. No dx until November, but I want to keep my stress to a minimum.

I thrive on some stress, but then it can cross the line and the fatigue just knocks me right out. "
