Are you still working?

Hi, I have some questions about work

1) are you still working?

2) Did you tell your boss you have MS?

3) are you generally "out" at work?

4) Did you tell your co-workers or just let them guess?

5) how were your requests for accomodations (under the disability act) received?

Thanks

" 1) are you still working? Yes

2) Did you tell your boss you have MS? Yes

3) are you generally "out" at work?
I still work full time, but have adjusted my hours.

4) Did you tell your co-workers or just let them guess?
Yes, it's a small "family-type" company that I have worked at for over 20 years. I am on the managment team, so I told them first, then most of the other employees later. I have not told new employees.

5) how were your requests for accomodations (under the disability act) received? I am fortunate that my type of job allows me to work at home if needed. "

" I work for UPS...they know and so does everyone I know at work, UPS are very supportive I work hard as a mechanic, sometimes I feel that no one takes me seriously, I understand vehicle injection systems but my workshop manager dont, he never comes to me when there is a fault, he ships the work out to a main dealer.
I have proven my knowledge many times, but who knows what goes on.
All my work buddies take the piss and I give as good as I get and they respect me for that...Be open and honest.
Luck with you...Jim "

" Just reduced my hrs a bit, on advise of my specialist. And I'm on FMLA for any days that I have appts or do not feel well enough to work. I've been at the came job for 21 yrs (started in my teens) - but I would LOVE to transition to doing my Avon business full time eventually. Then I could work from home where I have voice recognition program on my PC. So I don't have to type w/ one hand. "
