My husbands voice changes and it is mostly in his eyes when he phases back and forth. When his eyes change I know it is the really mean one that is present and I should get to a safe place. I can usually tell when he is trying to come out and I find a way to leave peacefully so as to not cause any more problems. If I don't get to leave then I usually end up bearing the anger and wind up with brusies and bumps. The bad thing is he doesn't remember anything when that one comes out. Sometimes when he goes away, a couple of days later he gets bits and pieces, but not with this one.
This makes it much scareier to him and me.

I think that if you are changing your personalities you are quite noticible in both.

I am not really aware of the changes that take place when I am switching. The only time I even know when I am switching, is when Amber is trying to come out, or something I will just let her out, and the only reason I know then is cuz Im conciously letting it happen, and I can feel the face soften, like a childs, and I can feel the want and need to play in nature and color, and things like that, but as for the others I have no idea even who they are let alone *how* they are.

Yep, voice and facial changes are quite normal when switching, as well as body postures and certain habits. One of my littles likes to suck on her lower lip, something I would never do. I also have one that plays with her hair and pulls it over her face while having very closed body posture, some sit on the floor or lay on the floor, some baby talk, while others talk appropriately, some with higher pitched voices some with normal pitch. So, it is normal with most DID individuals...you are not strange!

I"m afraid to look. But I know it does. I've even had one therapist tell me, I was 1/2 and 1/2 once. Half of my face was one, and half the other. I shrugged it off, until I saw it in a picture of me once. Creeped me out.
