Help finding someone to rent

I can only keep my house if I can find someone to rent a room. What suggestions do you have? I tried the free ads with lots of responses that ended up no where.

That is a nightmare!!!! I went thru the same thing. I took in a woman with her 17 y.o. son and they stole from me (among many other things) and I let my house go back to the bank. I am on disability and cannot afford to keep it.
You need to network. Friends/family- they know that you need a roommate right? Churches are sometimes helpful if you want to put up a flyer. The websites can be a perverts haven! Avoid them... Do you have any local colleges around? I got lots of responses from there (after I let that woman in) to late of course but they were good. Whoever you let in make sure you get a deposit and rental agreement in writing and do yourself a favor and do a back ground check. Protect your asset! Good luck
