I am so confused .....

First had mono in 1980. Took doc long time to diagnose (many blood tests ...) but seemed to get over quickly.

Got EBV in 1989. Since then have never been the same. Work a few years and then sick for a few years.

Got bronchitis in Feb. Never seemed to get better. Blood test showed my EBV titers ("mono"?) are through the roof so I guess I have mono again.

Talked to doctor today and I am supposed to move at end of May. I am concerned because this means I have to pack up my entire two bedroom apartment all by myself. I barely can get out of bed once a day to feed myself.

I asked my doc about this amount of activity. She said this is OK. She says I need to exercise. I thought that exercise is detrimental for one with mono. She has me on disability until end of August.

I am confused. I guess I should just stop worrying and get off my a**. What do you think? :)

Also are mono and EBV the same thing??

" EBV is one of the viruses that can cause mono-- I think it's the most common one. Everyone who gets EBV does not develop mono though. I believe there is at least one other virus that can cause mono. The exercise that is detrimental is doing anything where you could have a hard impact on your spleen or even your liver, both of which can become enlarged with mono. If you get hit hard enough in a sport (either impact or hit with a ball) your spleen could rupture. It might be medically ok to pack your apartment, but if you don't feel up to it, can you postpone your move for a month? I would also ask your dr if you were checked for liver function. Mono-related hepatitis can make you drag even more. Good luck. "

" I AGREE WITH SADBELLY. I HAVE BEEN DIAG. EBV FREE AFTER 1 1/2 YEARS OF MONO. I HAD TWO DOCTORS. ONE SAID WALK AND EXCERCISE, ONE SAID DO "NOTHING". I DIDN'T FEEL UP TO EXCERCISE AND WHEN I TRIED IT PUT ME DOWN FOR A WEEK. BE CAREFUL AND JUST TAKE IT AS EASY AS YOU CAN. PACK WHEN YOUR ENERGY IS UP. MINE WAS MORNING AND REST WHEN IT IS DOWN. GOD BLESS YOU DEAR I HOPE IT IS SOON GONE..... "
