I have so much that I fear with this disease. Losing my vision is probably one of the biggest.
Something that I am having a real hard time dealing with. I also fear having the phone ring with the news that someone else I know has lost the battle with this disease. I fear for the future and what that holds for my children. Does anyone else have that pit in your stomach, caused by fear.

" I have been diagnosed with retinitus pigmentosa. Many of my family members have this as well. I have trouble with night vision right now. but this is a progressive thing. My aunt's lost their outer vision more and more till completely blind. My son age 14 and I also have minor hearing loss high tones, but have never had anyone say much about that other than they would keep rechecking it to see if it progresses. "

" I'm sorry to hear about your sight issues. I have had some high frequency hearing loss, but nothing with my sight. It is really scary what mito can do to you, but all you can do is keep taking everything cq10 etc that the drs have you on, avoid known triggers, and try to keep a positive and hopeful mindset (very difficult, but important). There seems to be a lot of focus in mito area in terms of research, at least more than in the past. Better treatment are bound to be around the corner. Hang in there. "
