OK im a little scared of anti depressants, my doctor prescribed me with lexapro 20mg and i thought it would be ok cause ive heard alot of good things about it on this site and from people i know who have used it.
well my medical didnt cover that, so they put me on citalopram 20mg i guess also known as celexa instead, ive never heard of if. i took one pill last night and it made me feel very very wierd. out of it. and a little shaky, and it feels like someone is grabbing the back of my brain? is that odd?? is this normal? they say it takes a couple weeks to adjust but should i just give it time? ugh, im scared of anti depressants, i dont want to be on them for the rest of my life however i feel like i need something to keep me calm. ok thats it, any info would be helpful.

" I'm not sure about the med you are on. The doctor has me on 40mg of prozac and 75mg of wellbutrin. They said they would be safe if i ever got pregnant again. "

" I just started zoloft about a week ago and feel ok so far. I have heard zoloft or prozac are both safe. I definitely think you should call your doctor if you are concerned. Good luck! "

" They gave me the same thing cause my ins. did't cover lexapro either. I still haven't taken it even though I have it. My doctor said it will make you feel jittery and shaky for the first couple hours and then it will make you sleepy, she recommended that I take it mid afternoon, since I am not taking it and you are hopefully this is helpful advice!!! :) "

" I take zoloft but my sister is on celexa. She likes it better than the zoloft. A lot of people have side effects at the beginning. I wanted to change to celexa but my doctor said that zoloft is better to take while trying to get pregnant, during, and even after. There has been a lot more research done on zoloft than another other anti-depressant during pregnancy. When I started mine, I took it at night because most of the affects happened while I was sleeping and weren't bothersome. You can try that? If you are every uncomfortable when any side effects CALL YOUR DOCTOR. They may need to try a few meds and/or dosages before they decide which one will work best for you. I have been on anti-depressants for a year, I started on something else (don't remember which one) but they have had to change my dosage on the zoloft several times. I think I'm finally regulated. Let me know if you need to talk. I am here for you! "
