Okay, so another one tonight. I feel like i've finally found a place to talk and get supportive responses and i just cant shut up. My m/c was almost completely painless. I bled for two weeks before the baby died and had very very minor cramping during that time that they attributed to my uterus stretching. When i actually m/c i didnt have a single cramp. I went to sleep and woke up to find what i wanted so badly to believe was the largest blod clot ever...sometimes i wish it would have hurt, i think it would have made it more real...i spent a month trying to convince myself that baby was really gone...i lost the baby at eight wks and dont know the sex but i read alot about people naming their babies...that it helps. has anyone just picked a name even if the sex wasnt known. We only ever talked about having a boy and we had picked the name Alexander Van P. (His initials were AVP and i used to worry kids would make fun of him when he got older because of the movie alien vs. predator...gotta love those hormone induced dreams...)

" I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I found out at 11.5 weeks that my baby had died around 8.5 weeks, and I never was able to miscarry on my own so they did a D&C. We also didn't know the sex of our baby....but ever since I knew I was pregnant I always had a feeling it was a girl, so we decided to name her Sophie. To me, naming her made it more real, rather than just always referring to her as "it". I'm sure there's varying opinions on this subject, and there's really no wrong answer. Just do what you know in your heart to be the right thing. Again, I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but remember that you're not alone, especially not here :) "

" I never got to know the sex of my baby since I never went for the ultra sound. I was terrified at the time. However, from the very beginning I had a feeling that my baby was a girl. I just went with the feeling. "

" I lost my second pregnancy at exactly 8 weeks. I felt from the very beginning it was a girl so I named her Norma Raine. I think Alexander is a great name. "

" I just miscarried last week - at 6-7 weeks. We decided to name our little one Casey - a name that could go either way. To me life begins at conception, so our baby needed a name just like our other children. "

" We never knew the sex of our little Angel for sure either. From the very beginning I had felt like we were having a girl, I even dreamed about being pregnant with a little girl a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. But not being certain, we gave our angel a neutral name, Angel Payton. I now know that our Angel has to be a little girl after having a dream the night after my m/c of two little girls with pony tails dancing in circles while my sister stood there watching them. I know it was our baby girl with her aunt Becky and cousin Julie. I say follow your feelings, they're usually right. Who to know best than a mother. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm glad you can feel comfortable to talk to us ladies! I know when I had my m/c I directly started looking for a support group online the next night. I knew I needed something to help me through this and I feel so blessed to have found this particular site! The ladies here are wonderful. My prayers and thoughts are with you... "

" I too did not know the sex of my baby, I was 14.5 weeks and went in because I was bleeing and they found the baby hadn't made it past 9wks. We also named our baby, I think naming the baby made it more real. "

" The only name we picked for our angel was a boys name, because I had a strong feeling it was a boy. So when I think of "him" I often think of him by the name we would have called him.

If you had a feeling, or just a name you liked I think it gives some validity to what we feel, when the rest of the world takes the attitude "well at least it was early"

Best wishes to you "
