My Husband just went away for his first national gaurd weekend. Im already feeling cut off from him and cant wait til he is home. I even had to work all nite last nite so I havent seen him much since wednesday... what I way to spend the day befor he leaves.... pulling a double shift.

I have such a renewed respect to all the loved ones left behind. I know my Husband is only an hour or 2 away and that he will be home in a couple of days and its hard... I guess its a good taste of what it will be like when he leaves for boot camp for 6 and a half months....

So much respect to you all

" One of my cats seemed to notice that daddy isnt home and did the cat pawing thing on my arms and chest and hair and pillow for like 30 minutes... It was his way of showing affection. It something he usually does at bed time but only 5 min or so and always my pillow. I kissed his nose and told him thank you ;p "

" i hope your weekend flies by just like i hope mine does too with my bf being gone away for his drill this weekend. I know it is hard especially the first time but after that i does seem to get a little bit easier. i dealt with this last month too for a shooting competition for the army he went to and then this month and next month im not sure. If he doesnt got to cali for his reclass then he will be gone again for another weekend but if he goes to reclass then i dont have him here with me for a month "

" Enjoy your weekend. On drill week-ends, I used to make that a girly week-end. It was my time to have dinner or brunch with girlfriends I didn't get to see. I always schedule my hair appointments on drill weekend and always get a manicure and pedicure on drill weekends. That way, when he comes home, I look and feel great for him and I don't take other time away from us to get those things done. Everyone needs "me" time. Look at his drill weekends as your "me" time.
