I was informed today that i have authorization to have this procedure done. It is supposed to help with the chronic pain. The price tag is $40,000. Has anyone had this done? I am not too crazy about having an electronic device in my body.

" My son is in the trial phase now. He also has a supraorbital stimulator implanted over one eye and has had it moved already once. He has been in the trial phase for almost 3 weeks. I'm sorry to say that we probably will not have it implanted. It has not helped much if any. It has not stopped the supraorbital neuralgia and sometimes even will make it worse. He seems a little afraid to turn it on now. We have to make a decision Monday. The doctor was so sure it would help the supraorbital neuralgia he went ahead and implanted the permanent leads for the trial.
It may help you and I've read it has helped a lot of people. Good luck. "

" The statistics seem to be 50/50. It either helps some reduce the amount of meds and pain or it doesn't. I am just shooting for a reduction. With that, I will be happy. "

" My Doctor's colleague was just discussing this with me 9 days ago.
It sounds very invasive and a scarey! I have decided not to have it done.
I have not lived with this migraine pain long enough to justify such an expensive, invasive proceedure.
Good Luck to you! "
