I get migraines every day, all different varieties, and no one knows why.
I have tried every known over-the-counter drug and nothing works.

The Maxalt and Imitrex give me this intense pain that runs from my shoulders to my jaw, making matters worse for an hour or so before helping the headache.

Does anybody else get this?
If so, what do you do to relieve the migraine?

" the DHE injections (imtrex dont phase mine) do the same thing. the feeling in shoulders to jaw is wierd feeling and uncomfortable but never lasted an hour for me.. just 15 min or so. my drs say that is a normal feeling, breathing deeply and relaxing the muscles helps tremendously. it also makes the feeling go away much faster. the more you tense up the worse it gets. (I suspect the longer it lasts too.) try not fighting the feeling next time and see if it doesnt last as long or as bad. if it still does despite relax techniques, talk to your dr about different meds there are a LOT out there! I take Midrin as my primary migraine med. It usually takes care of the migraine. if it doesnt then I have to get the injections. The midrin doesnt cause that feeling you described, though certain generic brands (not all of em, but walgreens brand DOES bimart and kaiser permenentes DOES NOT) can cause ringing in the ears.
Hope this helps! "

" I have ringing in one ear but it is from a TBI. I use Fioricet w/ codeine to take care of my migraines or if that doesn't do it , off to the ER for morpheine. "
