It didn't help me. One of my neuros had tried it alone and paired with Topamax.
I recall getting dizzy when I stood or sat up.I already have trouble with balance because of the migraines, so this was a problem.

I have taken it. It didn't work for me at all. Some of the side effects that I experiences were dizziness, passing out (I normally have fairly low BP when I am not in extreme pain) so naturally when this drug lowered it further it made me pass out if I was doing too much activity. I couldn't exercise....and the drug itself made me irrational and it didn't stop the headaches anyway. So I stopped it. Maybe it will work for you . You may have some effects for a while that the docs will tell you will fade away. Maybe this will work for you, it does for some people and once it does start working, I am told that if you get any side effects they should go away.
I'm sure I had other side effects from it but it has been months since I have taken it I can't remember what they all are. I hope in your case you don't get side effects and that it works for you. Good luck.

Thank you so much. I have been on this drug for five nights and have had two periods of dizziness...one was when I was driving on the interstate. I need something to work so badly so I can function at work. I am going to stick it out awhile and see how it goes. Thank you so much for your input...I greatly appreciate it.

Verapamil is calcium-channel blocker. On-label, it is used to treat high blood pressure and irregular heart beats.
Off-label, it is used as migraine prophylaxis, and is actually on of the main go-to meds in treating Basilar Artery Migraines and Hemiplegic Migraines

I am still on it, did have it paired with Topomax, but that caused musle seizere ( twitching and burning feeling )and didn't help with memory much either.I need to give it a few months on it's own to really see how effective it is.
I also have low blood pressure and temp and this dose make me light headed and run down. And I can't have grapefuit juice on it :(.But you really have to wiegh it or your dose if you start getting dizzy and it dosn't subside or go away completly. Is it working enough to take it even with the side effects.
