myofascial pain

I have migraine every 5/8 days and they last at least 3 days. They started with peri menopause and have gotten worse rather than better since menopause.
When I dont have migraine I have this "myofascial" pain, coming from my neck into back of my head and my eyebrow.
I also have Fibro and IBS although the IBS is not so bad now.
Anyone suggest help for the myo pain please.
My GP is no help and I just dont know what to do I have no quality of life at all.
Thanks

" I dont have advice but I go through the same thing I will get a migraine when its gone that pain comes back and stays FOREVER...literally! I think I have had that constant pain running from my neck up the back of my head (behind my ear) and stops right at my eye!

Sometimes this is just as bad as a migraine because it never really seems to go completly away!! I was just diagnosed with Narcolepsy w/ Cataplexy and the meds i take for that help with my Migraines more than the meds I have tried for the migraines them selves! Sorry I couldnt be of better help!!! "

" I had myofascial pain too. I'm on muscle relaxers. I had also been receiving myofascial therapy, and was making some progress - but there came a point where co-pays just weren't in the budget.

Some headache specialists are combining Baclofen (which is part anti-spasmodic....but also works on GABA receptors so it can help pain that way) with Tizanidine (zanaflex). "

" I was on muscle relaxers as well..and do have to say that they were very helpful (They were perscribed for my TMJ). So it killed two birds with one stone.

I am no longer aloud to take the muscle relaxer because of my Narcolepsy/Cataplexy and the meds I take for it...so that is a set back! "

" For my myofacial pain I use a combo of things-
Physical therpay was extremely helpful, until my insurance stopped paying for it:(
Bite splint therapy seems to work well-
I use muscle relaxers when things get really bad-
believe it or not, yoga helps-
It took me quite some time to find the right combination of treatment for my pain.
I hope that helps- good luck:)
