Anyone else have a migraine on Mother's Day?

So I am pregnant, about 32 weeks. I have already been hospitalized once because I can't take my Axert. They gave me percocet and it seemed to work. Then, Saturday night I started getting another one. Sunday morning I took a percocet, nothing. By noon it had escalated into a full blown mother of a migraine. So I took a second percocet and spent the whole day in bed. YAY!

My kids were quite disappointed and I was hardly able to choke down the Mother's Day meal they fixed for me. These things suck! It was such a beautiful day and I really wanted to spend it with my family.

Any one else suffer needlessly yesterday?

" Yesterday I was very sick with a headache. Today is day 8 and I just can't shake it. I've had a prednisone burst and I think that's taking the edge off of it (finally) Thank God.
I hope you're feeling better today "

" I had a very nasty migraine on Mother's Day. I had to take Maxalt for it early in the morning and it helped. However, I still felt a bit dizzy when I started to bake a cake for my mother. So you can guess how the cake turned out... Usually I manage to make nicely decorated cakes but this one was very basic. But it tasted good, or at least so I've been told.

This wasn't the first time for me to spend a Mother's Day with a migraine. The same thing happened to me last year, too, and those days I didn't have a decent medication so I had the most terrible Mother's Day ever. Fortunately I don't have any kids of my own but my mom always expects the cake. And she got it last year, too, and even today I don't understand how on earth I managed to make it. "

" Sorry you felt so bad. I had a bad mother's day for a different reason: My bipolar disorder has gotten out of control. Finally went to the ER yesterday and got some new meds that seem to work. I was in a drug-induced haze through the lovely brunch my hubby and 2 kids took me too and just wanted to go home and sleep... Plus 2 of my kids (16.18) live with my ex in another country so it's always a difficult holiday, with 50% of my brood.

I used to get 5-day migraines when pregnant. Can you take a beta blocker like Verapramil during pregnancy and try to deflect them? I started on this (basically, an anti high blood pressure med that keeps you vascular system in constant state of dilation) and I have not had a migraine since and it's been 3 weeks. I used to get 2-3 per week and be in bed, dysfunctional and in the dark for hours on end. I hope you feel better! "

" Yo.

Was right there with you.
Long ago Percocet used to work to help me manage through my migraines until they went away on their own.
But after 4 years or so, they've gotten a little less effective, and my migraines have gotten stronger (pain wise).
I have to attack them with many things all at once.

Mothers Day was just a total blur to me.
I can't remember anything about it. "

" Sorry you had to suffer - it's the ironic thing about Mother's Day. I ended up with a migraine starting the day after Mother's Day, coinciding with my monthly visit (yeah)!

If it's any consolation, when I was pregnant I got horrible migraines, but I was migraine free the entire time I nursed my last baby. In hindsight, if I'd have known that, I'd probably nursed the kid till he was 18!!!! "
