Hey everyone, I just joined hopefully to get some help and advice with the whole mrsa issue. I'm 24 and started getting sores last yr. My first one was last Oct and developed above the knee. I was put on doxy and it went away. I then developed another one on my upper theigh about a month later, once again antiboitics. In dec I developed one in my armpit which was cultured and came back positive for ca-mrsa. I was put on doxy for a month and everything seemed to be going fine. About a month ago I devolped a sti (which I don't know if they are connected). Then last weekend I got a small pump again in my armpit. Went to the doctor and got put on doxy once again. My husband had one occurance last yr and was treated, he did not have another occurnce till excatly one yr later. This whole thing is making me rather depressed that I can't get rid of it. We would like to get pregnant but I can't get rid of the infection and take antibiotics a lot. I would love any advice and if anyone knows anything about mrsa and pregnancy. Sorry so long! :) Thanks!

" So sorry you are going through all of that. I can't really help with this. I have mrsa in my blood and it is different. Also I am done having children. I would consult a high risk OB specialist and a infection specialist before getting pregnant. Have your GYN recommend someone. After talking to them you will be able to make well informed decisions. Good luck to you. "

" I had mine in my blood as well, but I do know that when my grandmother had the skin lesions and between my IVS I use Bactroban on all my sores and cuts they used it on my grandmother as well.I now keep purel on hand in my purse everywhere, I wash my hands alot, probablly more than I need to.I now get nose and blood cultures done every 3 months to check for infection. There are a few things like that you can do to help keep you infections down, best things are to keep an eye on anything new like you are, treat it hope for the best.I don't know of any natural remidys that would help.
There are so many differant opinions that I have gotten on my form of MRSA its hard to say. "

" I also have CAMRSA. Both the ID dr. and my obgyn said this will not effect pregnancy. I am not so sure I buy it. I can't imagine what would happen if I had another baby (which I would love to do) and an outbreak at the same time. The stress alone would be devastating! "
