what is the difference. my dad has ha mrsa and i know that ca mrsa comes basically as some sort of skin infection. does ha mrsa act the same as ca? do you get boils and blisters with ha? we have to wear gloves and gowns when we go and see my dad (he is in isolation) i was just wondering what is the chances of ha being passed on to us visitors and what are the signs and symptoms of ha? the docs say that my dad is not infected with mrsa but he is colonized? what is the difference? i know that obviously he isnt better or he would not be in isolation. any info helps. i try not to overdue it or get scared or worried all the time but i just want to be informed.

" Just brought my husband home from the hospital, basically the same as your Dad, gowns and gloves and the whole bit. They say he has MRSA sitting on his wound, but not in his system. Am really terrified, how do I protect family visitors. He is 71 and quite feeble from other health problems, so moving him around is pretty much full body contact. Am so scared that I will endanger family who comes to see him. "
