There are some health care providers who aren't aware of MRSA. They've been living in caves the last 10 years. The superbug is a touchy subject. Especially around hospitals where it got it's start. I'd never heard of it till about 2 years ago when I had 4 bouts with it. I'm not a doctor, but I don't think a chest xray would be needed. During one of my stays in the hospital, they did an esophagial electrosonigram to check my heart valves. Work with your doctors. Ask them a lot of questions.

I have run into doctors that don't know what it is. It gets me to be explaining it to a doctor, knowing more about it than them.

I can understand the frustration, i work in the medical field and most of the doctors play it off like it's no big deal... If it's no big deal why does it keep coming back. It's so embarrassing to have the outbreaks in your genital area and to end up in front of another ER doctor legs spreading showing the world everything. I wish they would find some way to at least control it.

OH MRSA is a wonderful thing! oy...I've been a positive carrier since 2006. I have never had any signs or symptoms I just keep testing positive. I had a scheduled surgery for July 7 that was cancelled because I tested positive. I had to go to an Infectious Disease doc who will give me strong antibiotics 5 days before my rescheduled surgery. I do know most hospital staff carry this but it never becomes a problem. It is also and can be fatal when it comes to senior citizens who's immune system is down and people who have had joint replacements such as myself.

I don't know, but with the severity of it and the rate it spreads you would think they would take it more seriously! When I was in the hospital back in March, the first thing they did on admission was swab for MRSA. I have had it twice...no fun. I wish they would be more careful. If you think you might have it, you insist that they check you! Wishing you the best!
