I believe you can culture a urine specimen for mrsa. People can only have mrsa in their urine.

That's how I was diagnosed. I had a bad urine infection. First they gave me cipro, then cultured it, and two days later told me it was mrsa. And changed the meds, they scared me by saying once its in your organs it can become fatal. ....gs

My MRSA was found by blood tests and swabs of the infection. I haven’t heard of it in urine. The infection would have to be internal for that to happen like a bladder infection. My MRSA is localized to the skin. It can spread but with proper care is unlikely too.
