My family suffered from MRSA from July 06 to Sept of 07. We were treated on oral and topical antibiotics. 4 of the 5 of us had an outbreak. But all 5 were carriers. After are family did 14 days of Batrium and bactroban we were cured!!!!! fast foward to now Feb 08 and my son and I just broke out with was was confermed today to be MRSA!!!!!!!!!!!!! My security has been shatted once again!! We were tested last Sept and we ALL came back NEGATIVE.......... We even moved right after that and are in a different state and here we are right back at square one!!!!!!!!!! We are all going in for a nose swab to see who of us are carriers and we are suppose to meet with a specialist in this area so I will keep you posted!

" My wife has had recurring MRSA infections in the bladder. We all carry MRSA on our skin and in our noses, go figure. It is when we break our skin that the disease can enter and become active. My wife has a suprapubic catheter and that is the pathway for the MRSA to get in. "

" Lisa,
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no cure for MRSA at the present time. When your family tested negative..That only meant that it (MRSA) wasn't active at the time. It's great that you will be seeing a specialist..Keep us posted about what he/she says.
Again I apologize if I sounded rude..

Good Luck,
Cheryl "

" I, too am a carrier. Plus, I have eczema which means itching is a problem. I have to be careful not to scratch so I become infected again. "

" Me, my son, and my husband all have MRSA. It dosnt go away sadly. It just go......dormant for a bit. I have had two MRSA out breaks now and both have been on my face :( My son has had two out breaks as well since we were dx with MRSA. MRSA is a big problem in schools right now. With the over use of antibiodics its no wonder why. I have four children in school and thankfully no MRSA for them. My husband is a firefighter/emt and is in and out of hospitals all day long for work. I think he picked it up there and brought it home to the other two who have the most contact with him. "
