i have mrsa
does any one out there have night sweats, , you wake up all wet, like you got out of a shower, you feel ok, after, but why is this happing once in a while. i think, that my body is able to stop the mrsa spreading over in my system. i beleive i had mrsa and had it many many years. but like many and like others. i being healthy and maybe its a gene i was able to live iwth it, but , but i had health problems and i was to see a nose doctor, and histreatment, weaken my amune system for clearless treatment, that once in awhile have sweats nights. my body could not fight nrsa. that my fevers, , during treastment , where high as 105. i never had fevers that high, in over 25 years. . i had two colds a year and maybe a fever or 100. a year or every two year./ during treatment in the 3 months, the last months, my fevers were as high as 103. and the night i check into the hosiptal, i ran 105. today i have not run fevers like that. but the night i have these cold swats, i win the fight does anyone have this system . ( you may sleep hour or two, and you wake up all wet from head to toe. and your cold. not hot anyone out there have this Posted on 01/26/08, 01:01 am |

I do have these night sweats and I think it is our body trying to fight off the infection. I also have times during the day where I am hot and cold. It can be very comfortable in my house but I am burning hot, not sweating but just burning hot. Not fever either. For a long time I thought this was menopause but now I realize it is not. How long do you think you have had mrsa? What has been the treatment you mentioned? Have you had lower back pain? Also how about your knees, do they hurt?

I have them all the time, not sure if it is hormones, illness or what causes it.My MRSA is colonized, but I have always felt run down kinda like having a mild case of the flu everyday since MRSA.I now catch everything I am exposed to and have a much longer healing time with or without meds.I don't know if MRSA causes it, just want to not have wet sheets so often.

Yes this happens to me also.Not real bad but some times the back of my head is wet.It come and goes i have had mersa scence september 07.Not only that but alot of other strange things,My lymph gland are tender under arms and in groin not swollen.

I would make sure you are letting your doctor know about night sweats, and those who have posted about enlarged lymph nodes. It's hard to predict whether it's MRSA related or not since I don't know all your stories; but would be a good thing to get checked.

Hi Michelle, this is ky first day on Daily Strength so I am not sure how this all works but.......... I got MRSA during spine surgery, as if the spine surgery wasn't enough. I had to stay in a SNF for 2 months after the surgery because of the IV antibiotics. After I got home my night sweats started, just like you discribed. I don't even put my nightgowns away anymore just keep them on my nightstand right next to a yowel and clean sheets. I know that sounds extreme but it is what I go through every night. About a few months ago it came with this horrible odor, it doesn't smell like body odor, but more like something sour. Does anyone else have that. In addition to freezing in the morning I have this odor that almost makes me sick. All the doc's I see are concerned but.... there is a belief that the infection is smoldering away on the hardware in my back and they have determined theat the fusion is not healing because of it. I am just sitting around waiting for the MRSA to do something then they are talking surgery to clean the infection out.

Hi Michelle -- I have heavy sweats too, but mine are concentrated on my HEAD! It can happen during the day or at night - up to 5 times in 24 hours. My head becomes so wet that it looks as though I've just gotten out of a shower. I carry a dry wash cloth to wipe my head, but can't figure out WHY this is happening. I had MRSA for 3 years, but the last time I was tested in hospital they found that I have finally shaken it and I no longer have it, so my sweating can not be because of the MRSA. I'm wondering if it is either the multiple myeloma (cancer) or pain medication (morphine). Does anyone else have this problem?? Any help gratefully appreciated. Cheers, Cath
