Hospital never told me!

Hi there... I was in the ER about 2 1/2 years ago for a skin infection called cellulitis. Well during this time they did a culture of the wound and it came back MRSA positive, but they never told me. I just found this out recently because I had another skin wound last month that I had cultured at a different hospital and they DID tell me it was MRSA - so I began requesting medical records from a long time ago to see what those records showed.

Now for the past 2 years I've been dealing with constant boils between my legs, on my stomach, and lumps in my underarm area. I have also had about 10 sty's in my eye in the past year. Just within the past 30 days have I been told I was positive for MRSA and have been on two cycles of antibiotics - two 15 day cycles of doxycycline and now I'm one doxycycline 100mg 1x per day - indefinitely.

Just this week I began to urinate blood. The doctor says I probably passed a small kidney stone.

I fear that, at this point, 2 1/2 years after having MRSA (that we know of definitively), I fear it may be in my bloodstream and now infecting internal parts of my body.

What do I do? During the past 2 years I've developed high blood pressure and diabetes. And now that I find out that my MRSA was KNOWN 2 1/2 years ago but I was never told....

:-( Should I demand certain tests? Should I ask for a certain type of treatment?

I'm terrorfied that this may have gone on too long without treatment?

Help!

" I didn't know I had MRSA before it came close to killing me.My situation was after a surgery on my NF tumors, my grandmother who was in a nurseing home at the time contracted MRSA.I stayed away from her till the staff and head nurse and doc told me she was no longer contagious, and assured me there would be no harm for me to sit with her and help care for her.3 months later she was dead and 6 months after I came close, with 105 degree fever, ( high for me who's temp is normally 96.3-7.).
Since then I have had several medical conditions get worse including blood sugar issues, sinus ane ear infections IBS, and a general felling of having the flu since I got it.
If you infection was internal, you praobablly carry it and it can come back with any injury or infection.I would switch docs and get an opinion from at least 2 infectious desiease specalists. You always need to mention it at the ER, it make make a differance in how they treat your infection.I dunno your situation, but having quartly blood cultures done to stay ahead of it.
Msg me if I can help further.Hugs and prayers. "
