Hi,
i was diagnosed with MRSA from a culture and it seems to always flare up in different locations but looks similar to what i had cultured. I get several small red bite looking bumps anywhere in my groin area and in inner buttocks. They itch and i try not to bother them to make them go away sooner. i am taking doxycycline and i have some hibiclense that i bath with when i feel itchy. This has been flaring up quite a bit lately. Is this normal? Can MRSA still be life threatening even if i have had it for a few months now or will my body be able to fight it off all the time now? Could genital herpes and MRSA look similar as fas as outbreaks?

" MRSA can come back. I had 4 bouts with it in an 8 week period. And, yes, it can always be life threatening. MRSA can show up anywhere, but those bumps sound like eczema. You might have your doctor check for that. And, please resist the itching. MRSA loves an opening in the skin. "

" well.. thanks for the response but i know what excema looks like because my wife has it bad.. But i got to strongly disagree that this is not excema. Not how it is showing up and the amount of times it shows up in the groin area and nowhere else. I believe strongly that its either genital herpes outbreak or mrsa.. I have never had these outbreaks until my first one pretty close to this one but i scratched and scratched and it made it really irritated and pussy looking then ever since i have been getting similar outbreaks just not pussy looking because i dont scratch. Just curious tho ugh "

" My daughter and I have MRSA and I don't think it itches at all. I have only gotton boils and my daughter has both boils and blisters.

And what I understand is mrsa can be in pimple, boil, blister form....

have you thought about jock itch? heat rash? or something along those lines "

" I am glad that you got a answer. I don't completley understand MRSA but, I do know that my daughter would get yeast infections then shortly after get a staph infection. So it could of started out as something else.

once you have staph on your skin. you can get infectios through an open wound or whatever. I suggest using antibacterial body soap...dial, safegaurd something like that..it will help. "
