My husband used this medication and had really abnormal dreams. He would talk and get up and walk in his sleep. If it was a bad dream, look out! It was very difficult to wake him up. He no longer takes it. He takes trazodone instead, 50 mg. tablets. It is not habit forming and he says he sleeps better then when he used ambien. This was "his" experience. Everyone is different of course.

If it works in the beginning for you you'll know. With my tolerance, I say they suck. Clonopine(Colonzapam) at .5mg is a safe bet you will sleep well and not feel groggy when you wake.Ask the doc if you're needing the sleep so bad that your days feel disrupted.
