I've watched the meth epidemic hit my state very hard. Destroying my life the lives of my friends and family. From it some of us are dead, dying, in prison and so on. I havn't touch dope in two years and for two years I have been on a pink puffy cloud getting my life back together. Things have went quite well for me since I have been clean. Until about a two weeks ago. I didn't use but I sure felt like using. I found out I have hep C because of my IV drug use. Dealing with the regret of sticking that needle in my arm is hard and I kick myself in the a** everyday because of it. But that is living in the problem not the solution. I keep reminding myself that God didn't carry me this far to drop me now. I have so much to live for I have 3 beautiful kids that I love so much and if I wouldn't have got clean when I did I wouldn't have them now. See when I was using the DHS took them away because of my drug use and all the drama that went with that lifestyle. I went to rehab for the second time and after I got out I just kept doing the next right thing. The courts still didn't want to give my kids back and it was discouraging but I didn't give up and eventually miracles started happening. The judge decided to give my husband (who is also recovering alcoholic, addict) another chance. Like I said my kids have been home a year now. I can't imagine life without them. Anyways I know several people with similar situations and I want to tell them don't give up. If I can do this so can you. I am no differnt no better than anyone I am just average. I hope this helps someone who's life was also hit hard by the meth epidemic.

Enjoy where you are on the way to where you are going. May your path be straight with God.
He's forgiving, he's loving and he is working with you in his own time. If God could save a sinner like me, think of what he can do for you.

I'll bet getting your kids back was one of the best days of your life.
I hear where you're coming from. I contracted HIV from slamming. Just think where we'd both be if we continued down that path!

i think the alcohol epidemic is much worse. i hate all the government propaganda. i've read that every so often there comes a new substance the government focuses on depending on the times. right now it's meth. i've heard that later on it'll be downers like xanax and valium and other benzos. the government just can't face the fact that it legalized the most widely abused drug - alcohol, so it focuses on the ones it hasn't legalized to make it look better. i know sooooo few people who use meth, but so many who drink every day...slowly killing themselves. we accept alcoholism a whole lot more than we do stimulant abuse. it's because we know we're defeated when it comes to alcohol. we still think we can win the war on drugs. well, if it ain't one thing, it'll be another. addictions take many forms. i hear there's a lot of meth cooking in OK, so i can't say I know what it's like there. i just wanted to let you know there are worse addictions affecting more people than meth.

Number, I agree to a point. Meth is over whelming, then the people that stop meth use acohol to replace the drug.
Both are so wide spread. More and more restaurants are serving and then they get into there cars and drive. I go to this big events that are serving, at these events are lawyers, Dr.'s, judges etc.... One of these events was a CASA,it was to raise money.A big fancy event, done every year,I took my 7 year old because she was amazed by all the painted chairs they were up for sale, I ask about bring her and the person said sure I brought my child last year and she loved it. Needless to say we did not stay long, I was floored at all the drinking. Those that attended were like I said Lawyers, DR.'s Judges etc....... And everyone was drinking. It seems nobody can get together without booze being involved. No there was not any meth addicts there, the tickets were very high it was all drinkers. But I see the meth addiction as being so very huge to. Then I watch TV and see the ads pushing drugs and how you can call get a sample!!!!!!!! It has became a drug addict world, from one thing to another. Now, I stop and ask............who's fault is it? Yes we have to stand up and take responsablity for ourselves, but it all is being pushed in our faces where ever we turn. Beilever, I am very proud of you. And it sounds like you truely did what you needed to do to get your children back, so many with addictions simple learn how to work the system, lie and still use etc...... Stay strong and keep up the good work. I have never had a addcition to meth, pot or anything like that, but my world has been a roller coaster ride do to people in my life that has had, still has meth addictions, drinking etc....and it has been a hoorible roller coaster ride of 10 plus years, nothing that I would wish on anyone. May God always be with you and your family.
