When we use its always the easy way out of feeling's we dont know how to cope with or a situation we are not comfortable with. I call getting high the easy way out. I have more respect for the person that has been an addict and got clean and worked to stay clean. Than the person who has never used, but like to give advice to addict's. Walk in my shoe's before you tell me how to walk in them. There is always going to be dope dreams and all the other stuff that came with being a user, but if we stay true to who we are sobriety is possible. I have been clean for over two years and yes I still have craving's. But I decided to try life the hard way. So far so good!

" I totally agree that people who have no personal experience with addiction should keep their mouths shut. Its cool for those that went to school ie: counselors specializing in addiction BUT they can only know so much. The counselor I had in treatment "said" she was an ex junkie. So I totally felt better about her and she did know what she was talking about. As far as that Boise policeofficer HE CAN KISS MY ADDICT ASS BECAUSE HOPE IS POSSIBLE AND I AND YOU ARE PROOF AND ANYBODY WHO SAYS DIFFERENT CAN KISS MY ASS.
Being an addict makes life difficult. I often wonder how nice it would be to be a "normie" for a day and not have to deal with the little freak beast that lies within me. I do believe everyone has some sort of "addiction" that they use to escape. Meth is one of the worst. It is hard at times to remain clean and their are moments when I suddenly want to get high, but the REWARDS for riding out the jones and making it on the other side clean are awesome!! "

" hey docfree-- yes,the craving i think comes and goes once in a blue moon, like it has been said and it works for me--this too shall pass. As for the easy way out. Sobriety is easier only because i worked so hard to get my fix. Sobriey is hard some times because of the unfamiliarties we get to face. An addict like myself is always up for new challenges- as long as i stay clean and sober -- life stays good even on the bad days. anyways, good job on the two years-- you are catching up to me with 4 :) "

" I have been clean for over 2yrs and yes I still get the cravings. They are not as bad as before but they do still come. I remember all the week-ends that I would spend high. When Fridays would come I would get all happy cause I knew the white lady was gonna be there for me.It was almost a celebration for me to get that pipe clean for the start of a new week-end of speeding. For the time being the monkey is off my back, and I hope he doesn't climb back on. " Hi DOCfree,
Good job on being clean for more than two years. You should be very proud of yourself and the hard work that you’ve put in to get where you’re at. I totally still have those dope dreams even being going on 7 years clean. Sobriety is totally possible. I have to disagree with one thing though. Getting high and living the drug life for me was the easy way and then it became the harder way. Being an addict is the hardest job out there. Always trying to get a fix can get tough. Especially hard when you’re broke or when all the connections get locked up or some other obstacle like that. Anyways, keep up the fight and I wish you strength. "
