Strange periods

My period has become much different than in the past. This time it took days to finally start. Not to be discusting, but there was just a brown tinge and now dark thick (almost brown)blood and I can feel it when it comes out. I do feel better now that I finally started. The week before I was very anxious and panicky. Anyone else?

" I will be 53 years old in a couple of days and went for 4 months without a period and then about 10 days week ago starting the spotting for 3 or 4 days, then had a 2-3 day regular period, then spotting for 1-2 days and today it's gone. Really strange. "

" Oh, yes. I used to pretty regular and consistant, but now it's on and off, spotting, starting then stopping, then starting again. Sometimes I'll get the thick, dark stuff right away, and after 1-2 days, it ends.
I'm just waiting for the day when the whole thing STOPS and I don't have to spend $7-8 for pads (although apparently it's common to stop for a year, and then have a period).
Anyhow, good luck to you. "

" Here her MKal, I'm having similar symptoms to yourself and others in this forum. Synical I know, but wondering if the best route is to stock up on the pads big-time - and then sure as anything, we'll never need them again! I hope. Its helpful to hear that others experience similar symptoms. "

" I had these problems too. A couple of hours ago my dr. did a procedure called thermachoice. It was quick and I feel fine right now. I have talked to many women that have had it done, they have all told me they didn't do it soon enough. Stops periods. Google it to get more info. I know what your going through, hope this helps. "
