Surgical Menopause then depression any1?

When I was 36 years old I had a complete hysterectomy because of severe endometriosis. Soon after I began with major depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. Have any of you experienced surgical menopause that included depression, anxiety, and/or panic attacks?

" Absolutely!!!!! My panic and anxiety did not start until my after I had my hysterectomy. Its been a bumpy ride to say the least. Countless Drs, meds, tests, hospital stay......you name it, I have done it this past year.

What I find works for me is exercise, vitamins and Xanax when needed.

I know there are a few of us here who have this.... :( "

" Oh my goodness yes!
Try a search for surgical menopause support group on yahoo. There's a lot of information there.
My surgery was this past Jan and I'm still not right. I am not the same person I was before. If I had to do it all over again I would not have the surgery. This is the pits. "

" I'm going to try the exercise thing. I was always active but never lifted weights. I started a few vitamins and watching close to make sure they don't make things worse. Doc just gave a rx for ativan. And for the first time since the surgery (Jan 2008)I can get a few hours sleep at night : ) "

" It's really weird that my Mom is going through menopause (without surgery) and is asking ME questions about it. She tells me how bad it is. I can only think to myself, how would you like for all of this to invade you overnight (after surgery)? It's like I was 36 years old one day and the next day I was in my 60's. "
