Definitely do, have days it takes all I have to keep from sitting here and just bawling. Most days I am able to talk myself out of it but there are days that I just want to crawl back in bed and sleep the day away.

Thanks for sharing! What a tough time in life! I have not had the crying spells yet, although many of my friends who are the same age do have that. I have always been unusual I guess! I do have days when I am very tired but my main problem is a feeling of sadness.

I am just entering this brave new world of one more thing that we have to handle as women. I too have few episodes of heat flashes - but the overwhelming waves of depression are more than I bargened for. At times I find myself overcome by situations and emotions that I can't explain to anyone else because - they are too detailed and complex. There are days that it leaves me crying in the shower because it simply is too much.
I guess what saves me, and perhaps us all, is that by the grace of God - there are breaks. Sunlight, if you will.
Do you think that we have always been under this kind of pressure that life hands us, and just now we're finding it hard to deal with? Men lose their physical strength - maybe we lose our emotional strength? It would only seen fair ... although no one will let US get away with it.
Hang in there my sister. We'll get through it. We always have.

Hi!
I'm also a bit new at this, but have found %-HTP from the healthfoodstore very helpful. I have written everyone I know about his .but it really has helped me with the blues. It helps make the Hormone Serotonin which we don't make alot of anymore in our bodies. That is our feel good Hormone. Hope you feel better. Just one more step we get to take before we start acting like Kids again.

Thanks so much for your advice. I ordered the HTP and hopefully it will help. I had never heard of it! I have been through Black Cohosh (waste of money) and progesterone cream (also a waste).

Hi littleshe: What I ordered was HTP capsules recommended by bigiblue on this site. I ordered it from puritanpride.com vitamin company. I certainly hope it works because I have wasted so much money on other products like Black Cohosh and progesterone cream thus far. Like you, I have been happy all my life and then menopause set in...unbelievable change! Good luck to you!

5-HTP takes awhile to get into your system they say at least 2 weeks, but I felt better after just a couple of days. I started taking 2 a day and now I only take one. I also take Remifemin and have taken that before it is a form of Black Cohosh and has helped me alot. Again that takes also weeks to get into your system. Go to Remifemin.com and read all about it. Good Luck to all of you!

Oh, yes, crying spells are unfortunately one of the 37 symptoms of menopause. And you don't even need to have a good reason to cry; you just want to. No..HAVE to. So do it. Go somewhere private and comfortable and get it out. Because it's going to come out sooner or later, and better under controlled circumstance than when you're standing in line at the grocery store. If you can, get some kind, understanding friend to be with you. Remind them that you don't want Advice; you want Relief. When you're all through, you'll be exhausted, and maybe you'll still be sad, but you will feel better.
And remember: the rest of us here are right next to you, sharing the tissues.
Oh, when you're done, go do something REALLY NICE for yourself. You deserve it!
Maybe all your days are not filled with joy, but they are all filled with friends.
Hugs & chocolate kisses,
MKal
