For me, it feels like I'm standing in 125 degree heat, but it's coming from within; like I'm about to spontaneously combust! It only lasts a few minutes at a time, but it takes several minutes (15-20) to feel back down to normal body temp. Kind of like a fever, without the chills, epecially around the head and neck. I'm assuming these are my hot flashes/flushes. Anybody else feel differently?

Hiya. Anxiety can make you hot but a hot flush is like intense heat from the inside out. It can start at your feet and work its way up or just affect the top half of your body. It willl last for a minute or two and subside until the next time.

i agree with the others. the worst part is you don't know when you are going to get one.

I had a terrible hot flash yesterday. I was shopping for a gift and feeling stressed and suddenly I felt this intense heat...from like my shoulders up to my head. It seemed to last forever but was better by the time I got to the car.
I've been into menopause about a year and a half but never had such a bad hot flash. I was also exceptionally moody and I just hated the way I felt. I have to COOL DOWN and then CALM DOWN. Oh gosh...this is not easy. Thanks for listening.

Stay away from things that can trigger it. Coffee, cokes, Sweets, and always have a cold Bottle of water when you have to leave the house. Also those Baby wipes help to have them handy.
Anyway that's what helped me.The one thing is were not dying. (yet)

i agree, its the intense heat coming from inside me outward. when i am at work and i have one, (i work at walgreens) i have to run to our dairy cooler if i can just to cool off....but it usually wears off pretty quickly anyways if i dont get a chance to run to the cooler. it just sucks each time and this hot weather makes it happen more often. pepperoni pizza is something that triggers mine. and anything hot, really, hot food, drinks, spicy foods....basically, learn what triggers them and just avoid them if you can or if you really like pepperoni pizza like i do then eat in a cooool place with a fan nearby, haha....
