I had to have a complete hysterectomy at 23 and I am now turning 40. You're feelings are normal. I couldn't take hormone replacements as I was allergic. Sop I have been going through this for a little while now. The hot flashes have slowed down some but come back with a vegence. YOur good days will come. My bad days out numbered the good days to for a little while. Just hang in there it will get better.

Thanks, It's good to know that I wasn't developing a new personality - a bad one at that!

you know, I didnt have any of this after I got off HRT! I wasnt able to take brith control pills and Im not able to take HRT either. I do go thru bouts of "God please take me now" but I have a very eventful life so to say.I was 24 when I had my hysterectomy and Im 32 now. Best thing I ever did for myself. My mom did have a hard time with hers though..

I had my hysterectomy almost 4 years ago, i started having the hot flashes about 1 or 2 days after surgery. The mood swings were incredible, but so far i am over those except for the itchy skin man and itch in places you can't scratch in public too.

I agree it was the best thing I had done!! I was in so much pain before the hysterctomy. But the lack of the sex drive is really starting to weigh on m marriage. My husband has been understanding to a point. But it isreally effecting me, knowing I am having a hard time satisfing him. I never used to be this way, I was the one who would instigate the sex and now there is no drive on my part. And I know he isn't ready to be without a sex life. Yeah I have no pain but there is the pain of knowing I have put a strain on my marrage.

hubby and I have gone back and forth with the sex thing, one week its my fault the next its his, so for me I make it more about the emotional closeness and knowing that Im making him happy not the skank on the "live links chat line" or the desperate housewife down the street. I went thru that in my last marriage so if I have to have sex with my husband that only wants me and it makes him happy then as long as im not in excrusiating pain....I know its gonna be over in 10 mins and Ive avoided hurting his feelings. The things we do for love huh!
