HELP!! I recently (a few months) had to have a total hysterectomy with a BSO. I'm 41 and had the surgery due to abnormal heavy bleeding. I am on the Vivelle Dot patch and some days I am OK but the bad days seem to outnumber the good. I cry, I have this feeling of impending doom or a feeling like a terrible homesickness, fatigue, and just no interest. Will this get better?? Am I having symptoms I should not be having?

" I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 28. I took hormones until I was 57. I can tell you there is a difference in the hormones, what is in them and the strength. My doctor continued to try different ones until I settled on estrace only and never had problems - until he took me off. Now I'm going through all the memopause symptoms and am a wreck. Talk to your doctor until something works would be my suggestion. And I hope you start feeling better! "

" I've had the same surgery and know what your going through. Its been 6 months since I went into menapause, and I'm not feeling to bad. The first 3 months I was cazy as hell, had the same syptoms as you. I'm on Estrogen 0.625 mg and I feel so much better, I still get my days, but the good days are weighing out the bad. I did alot of praying and made myself a schedule to follow everyday I get out and do something I like. Hope this will help you "

" I had a total hysterectomy at age 25 and I know how you are feeling...The emotions can be quite overwhelming at times. I have had adverse reactions to various estrogen pills. I have chosen to use a progesterone/estrogen cream that is all natural and it has seemed to help a lot. If you have any questions, please let me know. Good luck to you. You are not alone. "

" Sorry but I felt exactly the same has you, when I had my radical hysterectomy June last year. I still have my good and bad days but more good ones these days if I do something about it. If it is a bad day I try doing something that makes me feel good I know a little selfish but it helps me to feel good which in the long run makes everyone else in the house happier. "

" I had a partial hysteractomy 4 years ago it didnt take but 2 weeks before I had to be put on estradiol. I had felt like I had fall into the burning bowls of hell, then 3 years later to the day I had to have my overies removed. I still grt them moods swings amd alot of the to flashes. I can't do any of the other types of treatments due to the threat of breast cancre that runs in my family. Me and both of my sister have now had hysterctomies all with in a year of each other. I was onlt 36 years old when I had to have it done, My little sister was 31 years od and my older sister was41 years old. my mother was 30 years old when she started menopause, right after she gave bith to my youngest sister. Is there any thing out there that works better then estradiol that does not have prempro in it?? "
