On another menopause message board I belong to there is a woman claiming that ephedrine cured her vaginal dryness. She says it only works for a short time, meaning you have to take ephedrine a short time before sex and it will cause you to produce your own natural lubrication..

I am curious your opinion on this because I know ephedrine is first off dangerous which is why all the siet pills that contained it were removed, and secondly it is in cold medicines and it is a known fact that products made to dry up the nasal passages can also have the same effect on the nether regions making the mucus membranes in the vagina even dryer than before.

" Sorry I just saw this. You can send me a message so that I know youve posted a question for me

1) I have never heard of ephedrine for this use and there is no documetation of its effectiveness in the medical literature.
2) As you know ephedrine releases tissue stores of
epinephrine and thereby produces an alpha- and beta-adrenergic stimulation (raises heart rate and blood pressure, can cause Agitation, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, nervousness, restlessness)
3) I would imagine as you have...that by virtue of how this drug works it would NOT help vaginal dryness in any way.
Hope that helps
Dr O. "
