Yes I went thru surgical menopause at age 37 in January 2007 and I totally feel the effects. I am on Estradiol tabs 1mg per day. They help somewhat I also am on an antidepressant Effexor XR which is been known to help reduce hot flashes.... and it does at least for me. If I forget to take it I can turn red before your very eyes.

I had this surgery 15 years ago and it was difficult at first but I have only begun to go through menopause. It is a day to day thing sometimes.

I had a total hysterectomy with removal of both ovaries at the age of 27. I have been on several HRT's. A low dose of Aygestin was helpful but not as helpful as the antidepressant (Lexapro) I am on for other reasons. This has taken away most of the hot flashes which is wonderful.

Yes, I too had a complete hysterectomy 2 yrs ago at age 43 and I too am on the Vivelle Dot.

Let me say, its been a challenge to say the least and I am not sure I am completely over the shock to my system.

I had surgical menopause at 31 and have been on compounded hormone replacement(bi-est capsules 2.5) which after a lot of years may need to be re-evaluated, I think I'm short of hormone levels, including testosterone. I have chronic muscle and joint pains and panic attacks, not many days of body being comfortable even with massage and chiropractor. Have recently started acupuncture and learned that my body is struggling after hormone factory was shut down 14 years ago! Am going back to doctor today for a try at testing hormone levels and adjusting prescription to help symptoms, including libido! But general practitioners is all we get here, usually they don't have education in up to date therapies for this!
