Hello,
This is another board I'm a member of. I have a bad back 5 back surgeries 3 fusion's. The protocol for having surgeries is trying Steroid injections. I had my first one 11 years ago. A few days later came down with flu like symptoms, happened over a weekend. I never in a million years thought it to be meningitis. Visit to my Dr. the following Monday I ended up in the hospital. After a few days they proclaimed it to be aseptic viral. I stayed in the hospital 2 weeks, one week out of my mind. The next week making sure I got it back? They said at that time that the injections to my back did not cause the meningitis.

Okay, the end of Nov. my back became worse to avoid surgery and get through the holidays I agreed to have another injection. 3 days later my husband came home from work and had to take me to the ER. After hours of test scans for bleeds in the head he finally did a spinal tap. Same thing!!!! What kills me I still have a few doctors claim they had never heard of this happening. Is this that rare of a disease. Everytime I get the slightest headache I get scared to death. My family Dr. told me that now I'm more prone to get it than before. This just blows my mind! Guess I'm lucky and it was just viral.

Hope to chat with you guys
Nan
