Does Meniere's always involve vertigo? I havent been to a doctor yet, and am trying to figure out if what I have is Tinnitus or Meniere's since my dad had surgery for Meniere's last year.

Also, has anyone ever tried ear candeling? I wonder if that helps at all.

" My father has menieres as well, and he has the classic symptoms. However, I started to lose my hearing when I was 18 and it fluctuates and gets worse over time. The doctors that I have seen think I may have a form of menieres called cochlear hydrops, which affects your hearing but you don't get dizzy. "

" ear candling will not help meniere's, matter of fact it does more harm than good for any ear problem. I worked seven years for an ent and what the ear candle does is cause the wax in your ears to crystalize so that it becomes almost like cement. Impossible to get out. "

" Well, I have read that MM usually isn't genetic, but I suppose in some cases it is...With my MM I don't have hearing loss or tinnitus...all I have are severe vertigo attacks...but what is ear candeling? I have never heard of that before. "
