The gal who's started the neuropathy group made a comment about the brain sending mixed messages...so I've been relearning what our brain does and the role it plays in balance, hearing, etc. I'm wondering if our meniere's comes from some like faulty wiring in the brain?
Anyone else have any comments?

" It truly would be interesting to know how many of us also suffer from whiplash as I do also! I kept feeling like I have a pinched nerve as my whole arm had went numb! I don't understand WHY they know so little about these diseases after all these years?
That's why I love this website and talking with others who have the same problems! It's bad enough knowing something's wrong and not being able to get any good answers! I guess because they feel it's not LIFE threatening, it not as high a priority? However losing my hearing has been very life disturbing! "

" I have had whiplash. I think it's all about MONEY. Why is it that china can cure cancer with natural stuff, but yet there are not willing to allow it here. They put these people though chemo and wish them luck.If we started curing cancer clinics the natural way. There would be an up roar in this country. It makes me sick that drug are allowed to ruin people for the sake of money. As for menires i wonder what the china people do for that illness.Im sure they have a cure for it.People have been using natrul things for ages.I could go on but i won't. " Throught my experience with a homeopathist i have to tell you it is really a reflection of the way we treat our bodies. sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly. All the stress we put on oursleves in todays world all the junk we eat and drink get in the way of our body trying to function. I really do not think the brain is involved. I have recieved complete releif through homeopathy... "

" Scooter, I'm so glad for you however homeopathic meds, like anything, help the brain do it's work, right? I also have tinnitus and that's the thing that causes me the most trouble with my hearing. "

" There are three different types of nerves that you have... Central Nerves (Brain and Spinal Cord), Peripheral Nerves that come off of your spinal cord to extremities and your Autonomic nerves which control your internal functions (all the things that your body does automatically without you telling it to do it) - See posts on "autonomic" within the neuropathy group.
Also see the topic called "What IS Neuropathy?"
The mixed messages are when the nerves are short circuited, then sending the brain the mixed messages. "

" I was told from my audiologist that the brain cannot fix what it cannot see. She recommended vestibular rehab exercises where you induce the dizziness and it makes your brain learn to compensate. She said she has had more success with these exercises than anything else. I tried it for 3 weeks and I am doing much worse. Everyone is different. "
