sensitivity to light

My husband has recently started having problems with vertigo. The doctor thinks it may be Meniere's. When the vertigo starts it comes on sudden and he has problems with light and colors and patterns. He is taking Meclizine and it helps to stop some of the spinning but does not help with his vision problems. Does anyone else have these problems? Does anyone know of anything that would help?

" Migraines are definitely a possibility. I suffer from severe migraines, but the headache part is actually the last to develop. I only get that if I've ignored all the other symptoms and haven't taken my medicine. "

" I also have to wear shades when I go outside, even in the winter. my eyes also water a lot, especially my Right eye and that's the side where my problem is, they tell me. I can't open my eyes either when I'm having an attack but can still feel the spinning. "

" I'm not sure about colors and patterns, but when I have an "attack." I've had menieres for a few years...my eyes get really sensitive to light. Even at the store, the white floors and bright lights makes me want to wear sun glasses. I'm sure the doctors are testing to rule out all ear issues...menieres is a disease of exclusion. Remember even if it doesn't seem like it...the ears and eyes are all connected...but don't let them rule out eye issues. There are a million reasons why a person gets dizzy...does he have ringing in his ears or hearing loss? the meclizine will only help with the dizziness not the light problem. Hope he gets the help he needs. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! "

" My husband is no longer having these vision problems. We don't know what caused it or what stopped it. All we know is that it doesn't happen any more. The doctors cant explain it. Thanks for all your advice and help. it was all very helpful. "
