This is a warning to anyone who is a member, or considering becoming a member, of the Sierra Prescription Drug Program. In my opinion, membership in this program should be avoided at all costs.

I have had severe depression for more than 10 years. During most of this time, I have been taking an antidepressant by the name of Wellbutrin. In addition to coming under its own brand name, it also comes in several generic forms.

Because of being allergic to all generic forms of this medication, I can only use the brand name Wellbutrin. Every time I have taken a generic form, I have wound up in a hospital emergency room. The Sierra Prescription Drug Program was made aware of this when I joined their drug plan, and they still let me become a member of their program.

Now, for some unknown reason, which they are unwilling to disclose, the Sierra Prescription Drug Program will no longer pay for my Wellbutrin. They insist that I use one of the generic forms that have put me in a hospital before now.

Because of this, I would strongly suggest that all persons who are members of the Sierra Prescription Drug Program switch to another program as soon as possible. It just may save your life.
