There is a bill that was proposed called S2102 END MEDICARE WAITING PERIOD that needs passing.

I just went thru this, 18 months with no health insurance because I "made to much on SSDI to receive Medicaid" in the state of Georgia.

This bill phases out the mandatory 24 month waiting period we now have to deal with when accepted on SSDI.

If anyone out there is heading in this direction like I did perhaps they can write their congress people and ask that they pass this bill. It may not help us but in the future it will avoid others from facing the mess I just lived thru.
