My daughter isnt doing well

Well, when my daughter was 7 weeks old she, she was really sick. I went through 4 doctors telling me that it was just a milk allergy. Now, she is my 4th child and I knew that it was more than that. I fought with dr. after dr. and finally found one to help her. Turns out she had malrotation of the bowels and a midgut volvus. Which basically means that her bowels and intestines didnt develop right and were all tied in knots. The doc told me that she needed surgery right away and He wasnt even sure if she would see a birthday.
She just turned 6. About 3 times a month she gets severe abdominal pain where she screams for hours on end. She vomits everything up and gets very dehydrated. I have taken her to the ER and doctors many many times. They keep trying to tell me that she is just constipated. I know this is not the problem, I give her fiber everyday and she also takes miralax. I have sat with her through these painful nights and known that she has had regular and alot of bowel movements. My instincts are tellin me that something isnt right, just like when she was a newborn. But, I cant seem to find a doctor to check her out. The most they have done is given her an IV and xrays. I am so frustrated. She is in sooooo much pain. I have been awake for 29 hours now, with her screaming and throwing up. Nothing is helping and I am beginning to wonder where these Dr.s are getting there degrees. Any advice?

" I feel your pain. I've had similar problems with doctors over the last decade refusing to help or prescribe tests despite the fact I was showing up in pain. Everyday I feel it's a miracle I'm still here.

About your daughter, I admire your perseverence...My question is, has she had any scan or MRI done? if there's a way you could get more tests like that, it'd be great.

Also, if she's had surgery it's possible that her intenstine is fragile. So look for help for her nutrition, and ensure she has nothing that irrates her (in my case; it's too cold or frozen, greasy meals, processed sugar, etc..I have a very restrictive diet). "

" immediately I thought the same thing as rever "it's possible that her intenstine is fragile"

I am not a doctor but sometimes the intestines will lose the ability to produce good acdophilus & bifidus which would require probiotics .Its not uncommon for unhealthy intestines to make everything else go crazy , the liver , kidneys , stomach , pancreas , esophogaus , appendix are all involved ... gently press around all over the back and stomach to the butt and groin one area should speak louder than the rest but in all seriousness 29 hours is just too long I would recommend the ER immediately this sounds far worse than something she can overcome quikly . Its far better to be safe than sorry and keep in mind she will have complications with her intestines for some time to come . Good intestinal health is soooo important ! I hope this can be solved I'll pray for the childs speedy recrecovery . "

" Well just an update, I took my daughter to the ER, and I refused to leave until they found out what was wrong. They finally did ultrasounds and catscans. We found out that she had a complete bowel abstruction and pancreatitis. They life flighted her to a childrens hospital and she had emergency surgery. They found out that she had scar tissue from previous surgeries that had formed rubberband like forms around her intestines and bowels. Things were so inflamed that her pancreas and liver were being squished and not functioning right. Anyways, for now the problem is fixed but, she will always be at risk for this to happen again. If they wouldnt have done her surgery I would have lost my little girl this past week. So, just thought I'd let you all know that we finally found a DR. that gave a damn. Thanks for all your concern.
