Extreme Chronic Leg pain

My brother suffered from extreme chronic leg pain for many years. He was originally diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome. He and my family tried everything for RLS. Nothing ever worked. Doctors brushed it off, saying it was just RLS, and kept shoving different pain pills at my brother to control the pain. The medications never really worked, all they did was make him addicted and need more. After a long time struggling with this, the doctors finally admitted it wasn't Restless Leg Syndrome, something we had all know for awhile. The finally started running every test they could think of or we would suggest. Everything came back mostly normal. He was pretty anemic, even though on iron pills, he didn't have an nerve damage, MRIs were clear. There wasn't anything they could find to explain his pain. My brother recently passed away, we are not sure why, if it was an accidently overdose on his medication, or because of his illness. I'm struggling to deal with Matthew's death because I don't know why or what was wrong with him.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this, or dealt with it, or knows what it is, or can help me figure it out. I don't think me or my family will be able to start finding peace until we figure this out. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

Thank you all who read this!!

" It sounds like he had autonomic problems associated with the autonomic nervous system nerve damage. an MRI would not show this, it's only a tissue sample that can be sent away and/or a tilt-table test.
Look up autonomic dysautonomia as another source. "
