It is very hard to quite smoking when everyone in my house smokes weed almost every hour, including my parents. It is very triggering for me to smoke. But now since I have the internet maybe my mind will be more occupied. Does anyone have any tips for me to try and stay sober??

" My parents smoked too. It's an ignorant act on the parents part. If you are able to break that cycle and be your own person, I suggest you do it. Good luck. "

" I thought of the Serenity prayer when I read your post...God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

So you can't change your parents, but you can change yourself. If you have been smoking as heavily as your parents, you will need to be patient with yourself and NOT GIVE UP because it is so much more difficult to quit when it's around you all the time, I am there as well. My husband and in-laws are all marijuana users.

I have two suggestions: talk to your parents about your desire to be healthy and if you've done that already, talk to them again.
Also, find yourself a replacement. Something that you can think about or do every time a trigger comes up (and it can be different replacements for different situations). Mine is to close my eyes and envision my son's smile. That makes me so happy and relaxed to imagine his little face (he is two years old).
So some hobby or interest you have to take your mind off resisting will be a healthy replacement.
Lastly, be very gentle with yourself and give yourself credit for being able to recognize the need for a healthier future for yourself.

Blessings,
EmmaGemma "

" I made a super long list of random things I can do to occupy my time. For the most part I smoke when I'm bored. My list includes random things. For example: flossing my teeth an extra time, brushing my cats, doing some crunches, putting on my make-up, drawing. You will be amazed at all the other things you could be doing with your time. Good luck!! And let me know if you wish for any other suggestions to keep busy. "
