Hi sounds like IBS to me. Stay off the garlic and any other spicy foods for now. Other tip that works for me. When I'm aware of my stomach...not when it's hungry but a low rumble or slightly bloated or you're going to the bad room to make #2, eat very lite and bland foods. drink room temperature drinks, and most important, if you can keep yourself calm and relax. This helps me a lot and at times, I can control or limit the length and severity of pain from the stomach spasms. Have you been to see a gastrointestinal doctor yet? If not, your primary can recommend one for me. Good luck. Does this sound like what you go through? This is how I feel. Please let me know how it goes.

It sounds like IBS and you can get it at a very young age. However, it is a condition that is ruled out after going through diagnostic tests to make sure you are not suffering from another gastrointestinal illness or ovarian disorder which can cause bloating and intestinal problems. Keep a journal of when you get these episodes and what you are eating. Stress plays a BIG role in exascerbating the symtoms. See your GI doc. Good luck.

Welcome to the club. It's sucks doesn't it. I pray to God for you that it's something else that will pass away. IBS is a pain in the you know what...it really is. Garlic may be a trigger food, so avoid if possible. I take imodium for the diarhea. Try that to see if it helps.

Thanks for your help - and sorry i haven't been on here in a while.
My tummy flared up so badly yesterday i couldnt fit into my size 14 jeans...and it was really sore. So i have an appt to see my GP tomorrow afternoon.
Imodium would help if i contantly had constipation, but i don't. One minute i'll be constipated, the next i'll be runny...not nice, and apologies for the details!

I was diagnosed at 12 but was told I've had it since I was a little kid so 17 is not too young, it might not be common.

I was just diagnosed with IBS. And I go back and forth between C for 4 days. To D so bad, sometimes I can't make it the 20 steps to the bathroom. I'm 38, not 83. I cant wear depends. And its impossible to funtion on those days. Doc tells me to eat more fiber but that just makes me go back to D. Even natural fiber in fruits and veggies is too much sometimes. Fine line. But I would certainly suggest you have them do blood work and stool samples to rule out ecoli, samonella, a bacterial infection, celiacs, khrons, IBD. Good luck, and I'm with everyone else here hon... I hope they find its something else. Hugs.

Hi Hun the symptoms sound very like ibs. i ve had ibs since i was 14 so its not age specific. when first diagnosed doc made me go on a high fibre diet which made things worse! alternate between c and d. it basically comes down to diet and stress. learning your trigger foods that can be different for everyone! and trying to ease your stress whihc i find is the hardedst to control as many times its a subconscious worry that you dont even know you are feeling. after many years of this underestimated condition and with very little help from docs i found the thing worked best for me was following a cleansing diet (coconut diet or body ecology diet - got to cleanse your gut first to get rid of built up toxins and get the balance of good bacteria in your gut working again ) and then following a balanced diet without sugar , salt white flour products and no fats except butter, coconut oil or olive oil.
hope this helps hun

Hello all: I thought to join up as I am having stomach pains lately, I have fibro, sleep apnea, other issues and newly diagnosed with T2 diabetes. It's very confusing to figure out what's causing the pain. Just one of those days when everything is acting up, including the weather. Someone here said that to take it easy and eat lite. I hope this will help cause my stomach pain is very irritating now. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am also going to mention this to my doc when I go to see him for my next diabetes appointment. Should I go earlier ? I would appreciate any helpful feedback about now.
