I am so tired of staying up for days/nights at a time with very little to no sleep. If I am lucky enough to fall asleep, I sleep for only 1-2 hours at a time. I have other help issues and this insomnia is impacting them greatly. Iam so tired.

" Yep,insomnia sux and takes away ones quality of life. I too have other health issues which seem 10 times worse when I dont sleep..I hate it !! Have you identified why you cannot sleep? Is it your medication ? Is it your illness ? Have you spoken with your Doctor? You need to get some help for this. "

I stayed awake for three months. Now I rely on Zolpidem (generic Ambien) every night. I now get 3-5 hrs. of sleep each night which is great I think. I'd reccomend it to anyone with severe insomnia. Good luck. "

" You should go to your doctor and ask for meds to help you sleep. They usually work but be warned they have side-effects like drowsiness.

Apparantly meditation and such is quiet good but it didn't really help me as I simply don't have the ability to 'stop thinking about everything else' I don't know, its another option for you I guess. "

" Sometimes you just have to accept the insomnia and not fight it and take meds for sleep. It sucks but you can't go on with no sleep, it will make you insane! At least if you find a sleep med that agrees with you then you can go to bed without the anxiety of "will I wake up? and "what if I don't sleep?" Sometimes all you can do is surrender, that's where I'm at nt at least... "

" The bigger issue is forcing ourselves to sleep when it isn't our time to sleep. Many things in our life can be changed around to suit our sleep cycle.

Sleeping pills don't help -- I mean this from the perspective that it is induced sleep that is never restful or restorative.

Insomnia is a general category for a variety of issues that interfere with falling asleep and staying asleep.

I rarely bother to try and sleep before 3 or 4 am. There isn't much point to forcing the issue. "
