I used to have those all the time. before i was pregnant. I would have panic attacks worring i would sleep and i would never have enough sleep. Its awful i know i remember that feeling. then when i got pregnant and had to come off of seroquel i would have panic attacks during the day afraid that i would go the whole pregnancy without sleep. I went on unisom and even though unisom had not worked for me in years when i went on it this time it worked!! i was so releived. then a week ago it just stopped working it put me to sleep one night and i woke up at 3:30 and 6:00 i was still awake i was paniking once again i was think now when i need my sleep the most im not going to get it so i went to my ob and she perscribed ambien another one that had stopped working for me before. but yey its working. sorry for the long post but i just wanted to make sure you knew you were not alone!

I am with you too.I have tried everything.I slept last night, ending a 6 day spell of less than 1 hour naps a day.Now I am awake again.Wondering how many days this one will last.Drugs are a joke to the night demons in my head.I think the demons are ambien addicts (but it is like cocaine to them)all sleep meds are.My best shot is a daytime nap on the couch.

Yes, I have panic attacks when I don't sleep the night before. I have found that doing breathing meditation when I first get into bed really helps. I have been seeing a therapist that has been showing me how. It has helped a lot. You simply breath slowly in through your nose and then let it out slowly through your nose. I usually do this 4-5 times. I then breath in through my nose as I count to 4. I then hold my breath for 7 counts and then breath out of my mouth for a count of 8. I usually do this for 4 times.
My sister also gave me a prayer that I say at night. Below is the prayer: Father, help me not to worry. I realize worry does me no good, but in fact, only makes my situation worse. Help me to keep my mind on good things that will benefit me and your Kingdom. Lord, I am thankful that You are taking care of me. You have a good plan for my life. I am going to start taking the steps You have shown me to take to fulfill that plan. I place my trust in You and in Your word. I cast all my cares on You because I know that You care for me. I also ask God to help me fall asleep fast and to stay asleep. I know that God wants us to have a good sleep, so we are restful the next day to spread His good word.
