2nd IUI and medications are confusing me

I am pretty new here. Am 28yrs of age, married for 3 and a half yrs and TTC ever since naturally. After no success visited the re and was adviced on IUI. I was diagnosed with PCO. Besides that there were no other issues.MY history as follows:

1st IUI procedure -
CD2 - on clomiphene citrate 100mg/day for 5 days
CD6,7,8,9 - HMG injections daily
CD10-HCG trigger shot
CD11/12 - consecutive IUI

15DOIUI AF arrived. Thus first attempt failed

Went in for second attempt and running. Though heres where the confusion started. I myself spoke to the RE and suggested her that since i am suffering with PCO might be that I need Progesterone supplements after IUI to support implantation...and she adviced the same..that was surprising...THen i asked her whther i was suffering from PCOS and not PCO - she asked for symptoms and I said that besides irregular periods, i do have heavy hair growth but in the usual parts..and she prescribed Metformin too...Who is the doc..she or me??? so thus am all confused any way my second cycle is proceeding as follows:

CD2 - Clomiphene Citrate tabs 100mg/day for five days
Folic acid - 1 tab/day
CAspy 50mg - 1 tab/day
Metformin 500mg - 3 times a day that is 1500mg/day(have not started)
CD6,8,9 - HMG shots
CD10 - HCG trigger

well for now this is whats happeneing and i am in CD3 today..will keep all posted..

" I hope this brings you a BFP - I myself have found metformin has really helped but would definitely advise slowly increasing the dosage rather than just taking the 500mg three times a day otherwise you will find the side effects almost impossible. It took me about 6 weeks to get to my recommended dosage which was 850mg twice a day. Good luck! "
