First time IUI

Hi Everyone! I just experienced my first IUI yesterday and was wondering if anyone else could share their experience.

It was all really easy actually...very quick. I know that the sucess rates are low...but I am still hopeful. I am still having some pelvic pain....does anyone know if this is normal. It does not feel like period pain, but more towards my sides - like where my ovaries are. Is this typical?

I would love to hear first time success stories if anyone has them....I am trying to stay positive!

" If you took any drugs this cycle, that is what is making the ovaries feel tender. I had mild uncomfort also. "

" Hi! I had my first IUI on 6/4 too! I had not too good of an experience though. The Dr. had a lot of trouble reaching my cervix. First it was too high, then it was turned weird. He has to stitch it into place in order to get the catheter in. Not fun! After all that, I'm hoping it works!! 1 more week to go before Blood Pg test. I've taken one at home already this morning though and got a BFN. Hopefully it's just too early to tell. So cramps......yes I had them. First there is ovulation pain that's common from the drugs, for me, it feels like someone punched me in my uterus. After the IUI though, I had tight cramps in my lower abdomen, pelvis area. When I urinated, it hurt worse. I finally called the Dr., and they said it was a result of the Progesterone Suppositories. Are you taking those? That could be what your pain is from.
Well good luck!!!!!! "

" I have just 3 days until my pregnancy test, but I am not sure it worked. I continue to have cramping...not sure if this is normal this long after an IUI (almost the full two weeks). Plus I feel like I am PMSing. This has been the longest wait ever. One minute I am fine the next I am in tears. I hate it. I know it will be worth it, but cannot imagine another round of this. Has anyone else felt cramping this late in the game? "

" It was negative. :( I am hoping the first negative is the worst...I was completely depressed. I think this month will be much better. "

" I am on my 6th cycle of IUI. Tomorrow is test day, and I am not getting my hopes up to much. Because I am not taking any drugs there is only about a 10% sucess rate.I wish everyone all the luck in the world, and hope we all get positive results soon. "
